AMERICAN / BRITISH NEEDLEWORK SAMPLERS, LOT OF THREE, comprising one cotton, or possibly other material, on linen, six-and-a-half alphabet and numeral rows segmented by horizontal bands of decorative stitching, lower row signed "M.Booth.", all encompassed by a linear border; one wool on linen, six alphabet and numeral rows segmented by horizontal bands of decorative stitching, below featuring "Fear God and / Love the Truth" above signature of "Mary Ann Stanley", all encompassed by a frame border; and the last wool on canvas, six alphabet rows segmented by horizontal bands of stitching, below signed "Mary H Waters / Aged 12 Years.", all encompassed by a chain border. Each housed under glass in a modern frame. 19th century. Booth example 8 7/8" x 9 3/4" sight, 11 1/8" x 12" OA. 

Condition

Each in very good visual condition; Booth example with a few scattered stains, thread with light fading, possible mend near signature; Stanley example with light toning to linen; Waters example with a few stains, some thread with fading/fugitive color; frames with some wear and other imperfections. Not examined out of frames.
