AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE CARVED MAHOGANY SIDE CHAIR, featuring shaped crest rail with central carved plumage design and molded ears, gothic-style vasiform splat, trapezoidal seat, raised on square molded legs joined by an offset stretcher. Seat reupholstered in 1995 by Elizabeth Lahikainen & Associates, Salem, MA. Original pine blocks. Retains an old surface with warm color. Possibly Massachusetts. Fourth quarter 18th century. 38" HOA, 17" H seat, 16 1/2" D seat.
