AMERICAN EARTHENWARE / REDWARE SNUFF / TOBACCO JAR, lead-glazed, cylindrical form with sharp shoulder, flanged mouth, and pronounced foot. Possibly New Market, Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. 1830-1850. 5 3/4" HOA, 3 1/8" D mouth.
Condition
Two shallow chips to underside of mouth, two small glaze spalls above base, several chips to foot.
