AMERICAN FREE-BLOWN CASE / CASE-GIN BOTTLE, reddish orange-amber, quart size, tall and skinny square "case gin" form tapering inward slightly, blown with the aid of a dip mold, having bulge/muffin-top visible on each side where the shoulder expanded above the top of the mold, short neck with applied round collar having lower reinforcing ring very similar to that seen on early New England medicine-style utility bottles, slightly indented base with disk pontil scar. American, likely a New England glasshouse. Circa 1830. 9 3/4" H, 2 3/8" SQ base.

Condition

Excellent condition with some chipping and rough flaking around upper lip, undamaged otherwise.
