AMERICAN MINIATURE BOXES / CHESTS, LOT OF TWO, each of dovetailed construction, comprising a possibly Southern yellow pine example with single drawer and brass ball-form feet; and a New England basswood example with original rosewood-grained paint and stenciled urn with flowers decoration. First half 19th century. 5 3/4" H, 9 1/2" x 6 1/4"; and 5 1/2" H, 11 3/4" x 5 3/4".
Very good condition some wear, pine example with loss to escutcheon, other example with some small losses at dovetail joints.
