AMERICAN OHIO AND NEW JERSEY FRAMED POTTERY TILES, LOT OF THREE, each of rectangular form with high relief images and sepia glaze, comprising two examples in light oak wood frames featuring a woman and a man in 17th century dress with feathered hats, having "AMERICAN ENCAUSTIC / TILING Co. LIMITED / NEW YORK / WORKS / ZANESVILLE, O." to back, and one example featuring three arranged tiles featuring a young man in 16th century dress playing the lute, stamped "TRENT" to back. American Encaustic Tiling Co. Limited, Zanesville, OH and New York, NY; Trent Tile Company, Trenton, NJ. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 17 1/2" x 5 1/2" sight, 21 1/2" x 9 1/2" OA.

Woman undamaged; Zanesville man example having flake to hand; lute player having some flakes to middle tile including hand, lute, and sleeve, bottom tile with minor glaze imperfection to upper right corner, and wood frame with expected age wear and loss to bottom right corner; each having moderate crazing.
