AMERICAN OR BRITISH SCHOOL (18TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT OF A GENTLEMAN, oil on board, a waist-length depiction of figure wearing double-breasted vest, ruffled flounce, dark blue coat with brass buttons, and powdered coiffure, no signature located. Housed in a period, possibly original, gilt frame. Fourth quarter 18th century. 7 3/4" x 6 1/2" sight, 10" x 8 1/2" OA.
Very good overall visual condition with minor inpainting to forehead, neck, clothing, and background. Frame with minor wear.
