AMERICAN PAINT-DECORATED PINE BOX, rectangular form of nailed construction retaining likely original painted surface, bears period pencil inscription to underside of base, which reads, in part, "Presented by Dan Koontz / 1875." Second half 19th century. 6 3/4" H, 14 1/2" W, 6 1/2" D.

Good overall visual condition with moderate scattered wear. Lid molding to proper right end possibly replaced. Minor repairs to lid and front panel associated with later added latch (now removed).
