AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN, oil on canvas, depicting a middle-aged woman in a white bonnet with a blue bow at chin. Housed in a period gilt gesso frame. Fourth quarter 19th century. 27 3/4" x 23" sight, 33 1/2" x 28 1/2" OA.
Condition
Good condition overall with minor wear. Repair and inpainting evident to bottom right of canvas.
Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
