AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT WITH VIRGINIA ASSOCIATION, oil on canvas, said to be of William Albert Bragg (Henrico County, VA, 1809-1863), waist-length depiction of an older gentleman in a black jacket and white shirt. Housed in a period, likely original, gilt frame. Mid 19th century. 29 1/4" x 24" sight, 33 1/2" x 28" OA.
Good condition overall, painting is mounted to a backing board likely having had an old restoration which including surface finish and minor inpainting. Both frame and painting with some scattered wear and losses.
Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
