AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) PORTRAITS OF MEN, LOT OF TWO, oil on canvas, and possibly lithographic print with oil paint, the larger depicting an unknown gentleman with a short goatee and mustache, the smaller depicting John J. Valentine, who has a very long goatee and mustache. The latter in its original gilt gesso frame, with gold mat; the former unframed. Second half 19th century. Largest 28" x 24" OA
Both in good condition with minor wear, oil on canvas example with darkening and age-related scuffing etc., the framed example in excellent condition, minor restoration to frame possible, a gold foil-like material applied to outer edge.
