AMERICAN SCHOOL (EARLY 20TH CENTURY) FOLK ART HUNTING / SPORTING SCENE, charcoal / pastel on paper, depicting two bird dogs on point in a field while a hunter takes aim at a covey of startled birds, signed and dated "Wm. Clohessy / 1904" lower right. Housed under glass in a period gilt frame with molded-composition ornamentation. Dated 1904. 15 1/4" x 12 1/4" sight, 20 3/4" x 17 3/4" OA.
Provenance: The Important Americana Collection of Barbara M. and the late Charlie Hunter, Staunton, VA.
Excellent overall visual condition with very minor discoloration. Frame with minor wear. Not examined out of frame.
