AMERICAN SCHOOL (LATE 19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART LANDSCAPE PAINTING, oil on canvas laid to board, depicting a forest landscape on the banks of a river with a rowboat in the distance carrying two figures with one holding a parasol, background with cliffs featuring a large resort-type building on the upper right side of the composition, illegible signature lower left with date. Retains frame with Charlotte, North Carolina gallery label. Dated 1880. 13" x 21" sight, 19" x 26 1/4" OA.

Very good visual condition with craquelure mostly being minor in nature, bottom edge with chips and two areas of losses to paint having some over-painting.
