ANTIQUARIAN PLANTATION VOLUME, W.L.G. Smith, Life at the South: Or "Uncle Tom's Cabin" As It Is, Being Narratives, Scenes and Incidents in the Real "Life of the Lowly", Buffalo: Geo. H. Derby and Co., 1852, first edition, a novel set on a Virginia plantation, written as a counterpoint to Harriet Beecher Stowe's abolitionist novel published the same year. Dark brown cloth boards with impressed decoration and several engraved illustrations.


Fair to good condition, wear to boards and spine, some staining and foxing to text.
