ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU AND OTHER FIGURAL METAL BELT OR DRESS BUCKLES, LOT OF TEN, each one or two-part form having gilt-brass/metal, silver-toned, or other metal frame featuring one or two busts or figures, comprising eight Art Nouveau buckles with floral, foliate, and/or scrolled designs, a buckle with a veiled woman to center, and a buckle with a Classical-style woman and child to center surrounded by scrolling gingko leaves. Art Nouveau buckle with dogwood flowers marked "PAT. AUG. 1901" to clasp, Art Nouveau gilt-brass/metal buckle with crowned woman flanked by two flowers having "PAT. MAR. 26. 1901" to clasp, small buckle with woman smelling a large flower to center marked "COLONIAL" for Colonial Bead Co., Inc. of New York City, NY, remainder unmarked. Fourth quarter 19th/first quarter 20th century. Widest buckle 3 3/4" x 2 1/8" OA.
Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including worn spots/losses to metal finishes, one or a few spots of oxidation, some bending mostly being minor in nature, and/or possibly one or a few repairs; Colonial buckle with significant losses to silver finish.
