ANTIQUE NEEDLEWORK AND TEXTILE ARTICLES, LOT OF FIVE, comprising a four-piece needleworking wood frame, a silk-embroidered piece featuring metal-wrapped silk thread vines with green leaves, an Iroquois-style floriform pincushion with beaded decoration, a black ribbon with "DE GRASSE" in gold-colored thread to center, and a white lace bonnet presented under glass in a modern shadow box frame with an old handwritten note from the family, which reads "This cap belonged to my great grand-mother Mrs. John Hannon (Elizabeth Wright Hannon) b. June 10, 1790 [in Columbia Co., GA] - died March 25, 1859 - She lived in Montgomery [Alabama] after the death of her husband with her son Elliott Cromwell Hannon 503 So. Perry Street. Her husband was born Sept 5, 1783 - was eldest son of Henry + Sarah Robertson - died in Macon Co., Ga. Aug 29, 1843. They were married Jan 7, 1807 in Columbia Co, Ga..." 19th century, silk embroidery possibly earlier. Each slat of wood frame 18" LOA.

Condition

Frame in good to very good overall condition with usage wear, a few age cracks, lacking securing pins; silk embroidery in poor overall condition with tears, losses, and toning; pincushion in poor to fair condition with losses including to beads, holes, stains, and toning; ribbon in very good overall condition with some fraying to ends; bonnet in good to very good visual condition with some scattered holes, frame with minor wear. Bonnet not examined out of frame.
