ANTIQUE / VINTAGE ART NOUVEAU AND OTHER ENAMELED METAL BELT OR DRESS BUCKLES, LOT OF FOUR, each large two-part form, comprising an Art Nouveau gilt-brass buckle with turquoise-type rhinestones, or possibly spherical enamel, and enameled detailing including two reserves with floral decoration, a brass / bronze-toned buckle with each half consisting of oval frame having dark blue enamel set with a molded openwork plastic center featuring a silhouette of a boy giving a tulip flower to a girl, a brass buckle with each square-form half having mesh backing, engraved decoration, and enameled center, and a brass buckle with heart-shaped reserves featuring dark blue enameling with roses, presented on a brown belt/sash. Unmarked. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. Art Nouveau example 3 3/8" x 2 1/4" OA.
Most in very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including one or a few light cracks/hairlines to enamel, possibly one or a few minute flakes to enamel, and minor to moderate bending to bars on backs; Art Nouveau buckle with a few worn spots to gilt finish; one part of square-form buckle having a bend to one edge; buckle with heart-shaped reserves having a few moderate losses, chips, and flakes to enamel.
