ANTIQUE / VINTAGE GERMAN AND OTHER METAL BELT OR DRESS BUCKLES, LOT OF 18, each two-part form having brass/brass-toned, silver-toned, or bronze-toned metal frames, including a round buckle having applied thistle motifs to centers and chain extension at clasp with spherical charm at end, a pair of openwork buckles with beaded decoration, and many examples with openwork designs or accents. Three silver-toned and three brass/brass-toned buckles marked "GERMANY", a brass/brass-toned solid buckle with scroll, flower, and bead motifs marked "SLOVAKIA", remainder unmarked. Late 19th/first half 20th century. One of pair 4 1/2" x 1 1/2" OA.
Most in very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including worn spots/losses to metal finishes, one or some spots/areas of oxidation, some bending, and/or possibly one or a few repairs; one marked German brass/brass-toned round-form buckle with a split and bending at clasp.
