ANTIQUE / VINTAGE GLASS-EYED FISHING LURES AND BOXES, LOT OF 17, each wood lure with glass eyes and polychrome-painted surface, comprising two lures by Creek Chub Bait Co. having three trebles of a Pikie Minnow No. 700 with Pikie Finish having original box featuring V.L.&A. Chicago retailer's label and a red-and-white Jointed Pikie Minnow; four articles by South Bend Bait Co. consisting of a Bass-Oreno No. 973 and a Babe-Oreno No. 972 lure and two boxes for the Bass-Oreno No. 973 lure with each having original "Tackle Suggestions" pamphlet; seven Shur-Strike, or probably Shur-Strike, articles by Creek Chub Bait Co. of a River Master-type lure with pike scale coloring with original box labeled for HR-0, a Baby Bass Oreno-type lure with yellow perch coloring with original box labeled for No. BBO1-1YP, a red-and-white River Runt-type lure with original box labeled for No. FHR[T or 1?]-2, a jointed Gateway fishing lure, and a River Master-type lure; and two unidentified lures. Some pieces marked, Shur-Strike lures except for Gateway unmarked. First half/mid 20th century. Various sizes.

Condition

Mostly in good to very good overall condition with usage wear and other imperfections including discoloration, craquelure and flakes to paint, age cracks, possible repair/s, and/or rusting to metal components; a few lures with one or a few cracks to eyes, C.C.B.Co. Joined Pikie Minnow with a chip/loss to one eye; boxes with wear, discoloration, and other imperfections.
