Reynolds Tobacco Co. of Winston-Salem, NC, a Sir Walter Raleigh canister and pocket tin for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. of Winston-Salem, NC and Louisville, KY, three Kentucky Club example for various manufacturers consisting of two pocket tins and a square canister, a Sweet Cuba pie pan tin for Spaulding & Merrick of Chicago, IL, and a Bond Street canister for Philip Morris & Co. of New York City, NY and London, England, a few with remnants of tax stamps. Together with a Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco cardboard canister topped by a plastic cover. 25 pieces total. Late 19th/20th century. Pie pan tin 8 1/4" D.
Most fair to very good overall condition with wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including flakes and losses to lithograph, areas of rusting, holes, and/or denting; George Washington canister with heavy rusting; Belfast canister with lithograph actively chipping and having significant losses.
Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
