ASSORTED APOTHECARY JARS, LOT OF THREE, various cylindrical forms, comprising a tall aqua example with applied foot and thick folded-out rim, a colorless reverse-painted labeled/gilt-decorated "COLOCYNTH" jar with japanned tin cover, and a smaller blown-molded colorless jar with bronze-painted tin cover and factory-ground mouth, larger two jars free-blown with rough pontil marks to undersides. Together with a free-blown colorless cover. Four pieces total. Various makers. Mid 19th century. 7 1/4" H smallest jar, 12 1/2" HOA.

Condition

Undamaged except reverse-painted label with some discoloration and scattered losses to decoration, mainly visible from the backside.
