ASSORTED COUNTRY STORE COUNTER-TOP ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO,
comprising a pine cash/till drawer, fitted with a large pull-out drawer over an open compartment, interior of drawer fitted with four rectangular-form compartments and two circular-form coin compartments, back of drawer fitted with a locking mechanism with raised lettering "PAT DEC 23 1873 / IMPD JAN 18 90", one corner with remnants of a yellow paper label with directions, underside of drawer with locking mechanism for fingers; and an apothecary/pharmacist/chemist balancing scales, rectangular form with black wooden base painted black and with red outlining, top fitted with marble which contains remnants of two paper labels, including a State of Vermont Weights and Measurements, two support arms and brass pans, underside of base stamped "MAR LELLE" and handwritten "120328".
Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century.
Cashier drawer: 8 1/2" HOA, 18 3/4" x 25"; Scales: 7 3/4" HOA, 8 3/4" x 21".
Provenance: Deaccessioned by Bennington Museum, Bennington, VT. All proceeds will go toward the museum's collections acquisition fund.

Good overall condition, cashier drawer with expected wear and imperfections, including separations/splits to the wood, lacking alarm and bell; scales with expected wear, marble with some minor scattered flakes/roughness to the edges, lacking weights and central gauge, pans each with minor denting.
