BRITISH OR CONTINENTAL WALNUT MARQUETRY INLAID CHEST-ON-STAND, two-piece construction, upper case with applied cornice over two hinged-doors featuring elaborate inlaid designs of birds and shells concealing a fitted interior, lower with four drawers raised on legs joined by a shaped stretcher and ball feet, later brasses, solid ends. Oak secondary wood. Retains an old surface with warm color. Possibly Dutch. Late 19th/early 20th century. 76" H, 65 1/4" W, 21" D.

Very good overall condition, scattered old losses to inlaid designs, old break with associated repairs and losses to stretcher base, possible old repair to proper left upper hinge, and with areas of expected minor wear.
