BRITISH PICTORIAL NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, wool on linen, center featuring a four-line verse, signed below "Sarah Ann Miller / Aged 10 Years", surrounded by various motifs including crowns, a communion cup flanked by wine bottles, a house with trees, flower baskets, hearts, push-up candlesticks, and tea kettles, all encompassed by a sawtooth vine border. Housed under glass in a modern frame. Second quarter/mid 19th century. 13 5/8" x 13 7/8" sight, 15 5/8" x 15 7/8" OA.
Condition
Very good overall condition with linen having some toning, some thread with light fading/fugitive color, frame with wear and surface scratches. Not examined out of frame.
