BRITISH STICK SPONGE / SPATTER CERAMIC TEA AND TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF 12, comprising three cup and saucer sets, two soup plates including one featuring Persian Rose pattern, and four plates including one with central polychrome pansy flower design and bow border decoration and one featuring blue transfer "GEM" pattern depicting an American eagle and shield to center. Marks to underside include printed eagle with "R. HAMMERSLEY." and registry mark and impressed "EDGE, MALKIN & Co", flower, and "12". Ralph Hammersley, Tunstall/Burslem, England; and others. Mid 19th century. Soup plate 10 1/4" DOA.

Condition

Nine undamaged, except some having moderate crazing and some expected usage wear; one saucer with some glaze exfoliation to underside; one cup having flake to foot edge, possibly as made; "GEM" having moderate restoration.
