BUFFALO POTTERY ROYCROFT ARTS & CRAFTS CERAMIC COMPOTE / FOOTED BOWL, having dark red/brown, black, and green Art Deco geometric pattern on edge with Roycroft logo with double barred cross and circle and "R". Black-printed buffalo mark with "SEMI-VITREOUS / BUFFALO POTTERY" to underside. Buffalo Pottery, Buffalo, NY. First quarter 20th century. 3 3/8" H, 9 1/8" D.

Catalogue Note: The Roycroft Inn in East Aurora, New York was home to the Roycroft Arts and Crafts community. Elbert Hubbard, the founder of the Roycroft community was the brother-in-law to John Durrant Larkin, the founder of Larkin Soap and Buffalo Pottery.

Condition

Excellent undamaged condition with expected glaze crazing and very light, short scattered scratches from use.
