CAIRNS & BRO. (NEW YORK) HIGH-EAGLE LEATHER FIREMAN'S HELMET, eight-comb/panel body, embossed rear brim, crown fitted with molded-metal eagle badge holder finial, the badge marked "RELIEF / 1", eagle, crown cap, and interior marked for "CAIRNS & BRO", fitted with a period, possibly associated, fluid burner parade torch to crown. Circa 1870. 13" HOA, 12" LOA.
Condition
Very good overall condition with minor scattered wear and discoloration. Possible minor old repair to brim. Old repairs to crown cap, torch possibly associated.
