CANADIAN AND OTHER FOREIGN ADVERTISING TOBACCO TINS AND RELATED ARTICLES, LOT OF 19, most lithographed, various sizes, including a Picobac pocket tin for Imperial Tobacco Co. of Canada, a Hickey's Perique Mixture tin for Hickey & Nicholson Tobacco Co. Ltd. of Charlottetown, P.E.I., three Player's tins for Imperial Tobacco Co. of Canada and New Zealand consisting of a canister and two cigarette tins, a Macdonald's British Consols cigarette tin for W.C. MacDonald, Inc. of Montreal, Canada, a Danish de Lux tobacco tin for Peter Stokkebye of Denmark, and two Schimmelpenninck articles for Schimmelpenninck Sigarenfabrieken B.V. of Holland consisting of a cigar tin and a cigar cardboard box, some with remnants of paper labels. Late 19th/20th century. Schimmelpenninck cardboard box 13" x 6 3/4" x 1 1/8" OA.
Fair to very good overall condition with wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including flakes and losses to lithograph, areas of rusting, one or a few holes, and/or denting; Picobac tin with significant denting.
Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
