CARVED AND PAINTED ROCKING HORSE, features of carved wood with glass eyes, body made of stuffed burlap and covered in hide, with a horsehair tail. American or Continental. Late 19th century. 24" HOA, 34" LOA, 13" WOA.
Condition
As-found condition missing the front section of one of the rockers, and with heavy wear to the hide, with losses to several original components.
Deaccessioned from the Wilton House Museum collection, Richmond, VA.
