CAST BRASS FIGURAL STEM SOLAR STAND LAMP, electrified, heavy ornamentation depicting two figures with ram's horns depicting Mephistopheles-type figure between beading and over two figural Goddess heads, foot with figural heads to each corner and heavy floral pattern, double-step marble base with cast-brass ornamentation. Fitted with an electric socket, shade ring with colorless prisms, and a colorless with frosted finish shade, cut berries and floral swag under a band of ovals. Mid 19th century. 21 3/4" H to top of shade, 10 1/2" H to top of stem, 5 1/2" SQ foot.
Very good condition, bottom of stem step with a small loss to the edge as a result of the electrical cord, marble with expected flakes/roughness, top of stem with electrical socket and associated alterations. Shade fitter with a small chip along with minor flakes/roughness, prisms with scattered imperfections, lacking one prism.
