CENTENNIAL JOHN TOWNSEND NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND-STYLE CHEST ON CHEST, upper case featuring an exaggerated broken arch pediment over three shell-carved drawers, over four block-front drawers; the bottom case with four block-front drawers, the whole raised on ball-and-claw feet. Retains finials that appear to be original, as well as original batwing brasses. Pine secondary wood. American. Late 19th century/early 20th century. 89 1/2" HOA, 37 1/4" WOA, 22" WOA.
