CHINESE AND JAPANESE PORCELAIN HAND-PAINTED PUNCH BOWLS, LOT OF TWO, comprising one example having three circular cartouches featuring a scene with a castle beside water and three small ships, two floral cornucopias on exterior, and broad gilt- and iron red-banded border, and one Imari example featuring bright designs including interior featuring a central urn with bouquet and four cartouches including one depicting a dragon emerging from a vessel, having a gilt and red hand-painted floral mark to underside. Fourth quarter 18th to 19th century. 5" H, 12 1/4" D rim.
Imari example having two areas on side with glued repair including one having a minor loss; Chinese example with moderate old failing restoration, yellowing and flaking.
