CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN BLUE AND WHITE NANKING CIDER JUG WITH COVER, ovoid form having reeded double-intertwined handles with ornate foliate and floral terminals and cover with guardian lion/foo dog finial, featuring hand-painted underglaze landscape scene including pagodas, bridges, a boat, and figures. First half 19th century. 11 7/8" HOA.
Provenance: Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collection care, preservation, and future acquisitions.

Condition

Guardian lion finial with chip to one ear, otherwise undamaged.
