CHINESE / JAPANESE CARVED ROSEWOOD / MAHOGANY LIFT-TOP SCHOLAR'S DESK, the rectangular hinged top ornately carved with dragons, birds, and Chinese symbols, and bamboo edges, concealing a multiple-compartment fitted interior, sides with similar carvings, raised pierce-carved lattice ends and matching modesty panel to back. Excellent original surface with rich patina. Late 19th/early 20th century. 26" HOA, 30" WOA, 19" DOA.
