FOSTER", having reverse-painted tablets featuring patriotic iconography, and Aurora in a chariot being pulled by Pegasus horses, no markings to brass movement. Key, pendulum, and weight present. Handwritten note with history pertaining to Clara Lillian upon her marriage to J. Merrill Holmes, a noted stage actor of his time. Grafton and Roxbury, Massachusetts. Circa 1810. 33" HOA.
Very good overall condition, minor losses to painted tablets with minor crack to left corner of Aurora tablet, possible repair to eagle finial, very minor break with associated losses to one spur on brass side arm, old repair to underside of clock case, and with minor wear.
