CN-1 CROWN PRESSED OPEN SALT, colorless with a green streak to one side raised on four scrolled feet. Very rare. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1830-1845. 2 1/8" H, 2" x 3 1/8".
Literature: Neal, Pressed Glass Salt Dishes of the Lacy Period, p. 46.
Catalogue Note: This is the first actual example of a CN-1 salt with elongated beads at the center of rim instead of the standard crescents that we have sold. This indicates that it is much rarer than indicated by Neal.
Near proof with only a flake to bottom of one foot and a hint of mold roughness.
