COLLIN RHODES (1811-1881), EDGEFIELD, SOUTH CAROLINA, PRESERVE JAR, alkaline-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with galleried rim, broad collar, and applied strap handle. White slip-trailed horizontal floral vine decoration to shoulder. Collin Rhodes Factory, Edgefield District, SC. Circa 1850. 9 3/4" H, 5 1/8" D rim.
