CONFEDERATE COLONEL JOHN SINGLTON MOSBY (1833-1916) COLONEL STARS FRAMED DISPLAY, two loose boards of three gold-bullion stars on a gray fabric, above is a note typed at top "COLONEL STARS FROM J.S. MOSBY'S COAT. THE COAT HE WORE WHEN / WOUNDED AT LAKELAND! GIVEN TO ME BY SAM CHAPMAN IN 1895. NOTE ATTACHED IS IN MOSBY'S OWN HAND.", and pencil inscribed "Captain Sam Chapman, Covington, Virginia, Dear Sam - My Colonel Stars. Jno:", a CDV of Mosby at top of display. Archival framed with museum glass. 1861-1865. 19 1/2" x 15" OA.
