CONTINENTAL CERAMIC FISHERMAN / SEAMAN FIGURAL HUMIDORS, LOT OF FIVE, each bearded with a pipe, comprising three bust-form examples including one also holding a chalice and one wearing a beige coat, and two head-form examples including one porcelain, two having sponge holder top. Marks to underside include impressed "BU", "BB", "JM", "Austria", and various numerals. Johann Maresch, Austria or Czechoslovakia; Bernard Bloch, Eichwald, Bohemia; and others. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 10" HOA.

Condition

Porcelain and beige coat examples undamaged; remaining head-form example having two flakes to hat top and some minute flakes to bottom back rim; bust with red-striped shirt having top with a flake to jacket and bottom with a minor chip to rim interior; largest bust having loss of pipe stem, minute flake to back base rim, head reattached, possible restoration and paint touch-ups to hat; most having some scattered glaze wear/losses.
