CUT BROAD-FLUTE COVERED SUGAR BOWL, deep emerald green, hemispherical bowl with 12 cut broad flutes, galleried rim, matching cover, raised on a solid baluster-form stem and applied circular foot, polished pontil mark. United States, possibly Wheeling Flint Glass Works. Circa 1845. 10 1/4" HOA, 5 1/2" D rim, 4 1/8" D foot.

Condition

Undamaged. Having a small burst bubble to the interior of the rim, as made. (UPDATED 11/10/22) Top of base rim and cover underside and outer edge with factory polishing, all exhibiting appropriate light wear.
