EARLY CHARLOTTE BRONTE LITERARY VOLUMES, LOT OF TWO, ONE WITH CIVIL WAR ASSOCIATION, Currer Bell pseudonym, Villette. (1) Two volumes bound together. Leipzig: Bernhard Tauchnitz, 1853. First European edition. (2) New York: Derby & Jackson, 1860. Inscribed "John B. Prichard / May 1861" in front and "3 month campaign" to back. Prichard was from Bradford, VT and mustered into Vermont's 1st Infantry on May 9, 1861, and mustered out on August 15, 1861, thus the three-month campaign indicated by rear inscription.
