LEESON EVERETT (AMERICAN / ENGLISH, 1881-1965) PORTRAIT OF JAMES COLEMAN HARWOOD (RICHMOND, VIRGINIA 1871-1947) oil on canvas, depicting a middle-aged man with grey hair and a mustache, identified as James Coleman Harwood, of Richmond, VA. Signed "M [illegible] Everett" lower left. First half 20th century. 28 1/2" x 23 1/2" sight, 34 1/2" x 24 1/2" OA.
Condition
Very good condition overall, the painting itself having some minor damage and possible minor inpainting; the frame in good condition with minor wear and scratching, evidence of a now-missing plaque at bottom with one nail remaining from it.
Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
