Catalogue Note: A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Edward Henry Berge (1876-1924) studied at the Academie Julien in Paris and with Auguste Rodin in that same city. Adept at capturing the expressive potential of the human form, Berge is perhaps best known for his bronze fountains which often depict children in whimsical postures.

Condition
