EDWARD HENRY BERGE (AMERICAN, 1876-1924) BRONZE FIGURE OF A SEATED NUDE, signed to base with foundry mark for "B. ZOPPO. FOUNDERS. NY." Retaining fine patinated surface. Circa 1910. 8" HOA.
Catalogue Note: A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Edward Henry Berge (1876-1924) studied at the Academie Julien in Paris and with Auguste Rodin in that same city. Adept at capturing the expressive potential of the human form, Berge is perhaps best known for his bronze fountains which often depict children in whimsical postures.
Condition
Excellent overall condition with very minor wear to base.
