ENGLISH / AMERICAN CAST-IRON DOLPHIN BOOKPRESS, early, likely original, polychrome-painted surface mostly intact, "4" embossed at center. Second half 19th century. 13" HOA (when closed), 21" LOA, 12" DOA.
Condition
Good condition with moderate wear to painted surface and surface rust, especially at base. Small pea-sized hole to dolphin body appears to be as made.
Collection of the late Al and Billy Steidel, Alexandria, VA.
