ENGLISH AND CONTINENTAL STERLING AND OTHER SILVER OPEN SALTS AND SALT SPOON, LOT OF FIVE, comprising an English sterling salt spoon with worn maker's mark and an 1885 date mark having a foliate handle, a German unmarked silver open salt featuring relief tavern scene around the sides, an Italian Neoclassical-style 0.800 silver open salt with red glass liner, a French Art Nouveau 0.950 silver open salt with colorless liner, and a French Neoclassical-style silver open salt by Paillard Freres of Paris with blue glass liner. Three with silver fineness marks and other marks, German and Freres open salts without / worn fineness marks and of unknown silver fineness/metal content. Total weight excluding glass liners: 3.175 ozt. Late 19th/20th century. Salts 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" HOA.

Condition

Mostly in very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, one or a few minute/small dents, slight bending, and/or slight worn spots to raise decoration; colorless glass with probably post-production polishing to rim and an area of a sliver chip and flaking to interior edge of rim, glass otherwise undamaged.
