ENGLISH FLOW BLUE TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF 43, including two plates featuring "WATTEAU", six butter pats with "DAINTY" pattern, four crescent bone dishes with "MARIE", four 5 7/8" D scalloped rim plates with "VERONA", five examples with "WALDORF" including a small dish and four plates, and various other patterns including "BLYTHSWOOD" and "ECLIPSE". Marks to underside include printed pattern names and crown with "JOHN MADDOCK & SONS LTD / ROYAL VITREOUS", bow and quiver with "RIDGWAYS / ENGLAND", a crown with "JOHNSON BROS / ENGLAND" below, a globe with "WH GRINDLEY & CO ENGLAND", and a rope knot having "NEW WHARF POTTERY / ENGLAND". New Wharf Pottery Co., Burslem; John Maddock & Sons, Burslem; W.H. Grindley, Tunstall; Ridgways, Shelton, England; and others. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. 5 7/8" to 10" D.

Condition

Thirty-three undamaged, except some having expected usage wear and/or moderate crazing; one "Dainty" butter pat with minute chip to rim underside; one "Marie" dish with rim flake; one cup with chip to foot; one cup with chip to rim; one saucer with some minor rim flakes; "Waldorf" dish and 9 7/8" D plate with restoration to rim chip; one floral plate with filled-in rim chip; two plates with flake to rim underside.
