ENGLISH, GERMAN, AND RUSSIAN STERLING AND OTHER SILVER OPEN SALTS AND SALT SPOONS, LOT OF NINE, comprising five English sterling silver pieces consisting of an open salt with fluted sides by Plante & Co. of Birmingham having 1896 date mark, an open salt with scalloped rim and raised on three cabriole feet by S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd. of Birmingham having worn date mark including likely not original cobalt blue glass liner, a salt spoon with spherical tip and a small open salt having scalloped rim and three spherical feet both by Hilliard & Thomason of Birmingham with 1897 date marks, and a salt spoon with flared handle by Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd. of Sheffield having 1946 date mark; a German 0.800 silver open salt by Bruckmann & Sohne of Heilbronn featuring shaped rim with engraved decoration and side with engraved "JO" initials having a colorless glass liner; and three Russian pieces of an 0.875 silver open salt possibly by Israel Eseevich Zakhoder of Kiev with engraved decoration, and two silver-plated pieces of an open salt with enameled exterior having colorless glass liner and a salt spoon. Each piece having a mark, each except silver-plated pieces with fineness mark. Total weight excluding glass liners and silver-plated open salt and spoon: 4.580 ozt. Late 19th/20th century. Plante & Co. open salt 1 1/4" HOA, 2 5/8" x 2" OA rim.

Condition

Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, one or a few dents, and/or slight bending; glass liners with one or a few minor nicks, otherwise undamaged.
