ENGLISH HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC FIGURES, LOT OF FIVE, comprising two pearlware open-bottomed examples including one depicting a mourning Andromache with arms around an urn on a pedestal and one featuring Hygeia standing beside a flaming altar, a snake entwined around her left arm, and holding a ewer in her right hand, one Derby porcelain example depicting Mother Goose, having red hand-brushed crown mark with "D" below, and a sitting pair featuring a shepherdess and a shepherd with sheep. Staffordshire; Derby; and possibly other. Late 18th to 19th century. 8 3/4" HOA.

Andromache mostly undamaged, except having a flake to base corner and minute scattered glaze wear; shepherd having some paint touch-ups, possible restoration to one shoulder, and some scattered wear to enamel decoration; Hygeia having loss to ewer spout, a flake to base, and torch probably reattached; Mother Goose having broken and glued base, figure with old discolored restoration to hand and lacking one finger; shepherdess having restoration including each arm and at waist, hairline encircling ankle, and some scattered wear to enamel decoration.
