ENGLISH WHITE SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE TRIPODAL SOUP TUREEN WITH COVER, ovoid form with molded branch handles and cover knop, featuring press-molded dot, diaper, and star pattern to body and cover, and three molded paw feet with open mouth grotesque mask head terminates. Unmarked. Circa 1760. 8 1/8" HOA, 9 1/4" x 7 5/8" rim.
Condition
Each foot having minor flake/flakes and cover having a hairline, possibly associated with firing separation, and a chip to interior flange. Manufacturing flaws including firing separations to cover and feet, as made.
