ENGRAVED BIRD DOG KEROSENE STAND LAMP, colorless and frosted compressed and banded-form font, intricate engravings of foliage, trees, a dog and flying birds to the panel, starch blue alabaster Baroque base, brass connector, No. 2 fine-line collar. Fitted with a period set-up comprising an E. F. Jones No. 2 lip burner, thumbwheel marked "E. F. JONES PATENT JANUARY 11, 1859" and with wing symbol, brass spider-form shade holder which is supported by an encircling ring around the collar, an opal conical-form shade with polychrome floral decoration and starch blue lines, and a colorless lip chimney. Second half 19th century. 19 3/4" H to top of shade, 12 1/2" H to top of collar, 5 1/2" SQ base. Shade 5 1/2" H, 10" D fitter.

Excellent condition, font undamaged, one stem ring with a flake and foot with a flake to a foot corner. Burner deflector with light denting, shade and chimney undamaged.
